During my 2007-2008 term as Board Chair, my goal is to complete the implementation of the member-approved changes so we can live up to our mission to advance the practice, teaching and use of Feng Shui worldwide; promote and serve our members with resources and opportunities; and establish standards in Feng Shui practice and education that will inspire public confidence and unify the Feng Shui community.

Liz Brown, Secretary

The Secretary is an Officer of the IFSG and is responsible for creating and maintaining the IFSG information and records including Mission Statement, ByLaws, Board Minutes, Board Resolutions, and historical data.

I am passionate about the built environment -- a passion fostered through 12 years employment in the architecture and engineering fields. From my first introduction to Feng Shui - yet another level of building analysis - I felt a 'calling' to deeper study, intent to spread the wisdom of this ancient practice. Since 1996 I have provided "A Hand In Healing" to the community, through Feng Shui presentations, consultations, classes and workbooks. In 2001, I filed paperwork to create a Kansas City chapter of IFSG and that metropolitan chapter is now flourishing.

As IFSG Board Secretary, I intend to facilitate communication among fellow Board members and with the greater Feng Shui community at large; as well as to advance communication and deepen connections with those in complementary fields, including architects, engineers, bau-biologists and interior designers.

Laurie Bornstein, Education Director

Chairs the Education Committee and is responsible for: (1) establishing standards of professional development and certification, that honor recognized Feng Shui traditions and practices, for practitioners and affiliated schools, (2) developing educational resources, (3) supporting and encouraging participation of Feng Shui Schools, (4) supporting the International Director in developing programs for global schools, (5) leading a process that develops the Education Director's role on future Boards.

The Director of Education's responsibility is to establish nationally, and ultimately internationally, recognized certification standards for schools and practitioners. While many schools and practitioners are credible, credentialing requirements are inconsistent within the community. The Director encourages participation of Feng Shui Schools in this process along with other members in the Guild. Our goal includes creating consistent basic, agreed upon requirements for formal education, continuing education, experience, and more, for those who practice Feng Shui or teach others.

Laurie has studied and practiced Feng Shui for over 12 years. She is a Master Teacher of Interior Alignment, (beginning and advanced levels), advanced graduate of the Western School of Feng Shui and is certified in BTB. Laurie is one of the original founders of the Education Committee and of the Heartland Chapter of the International Feng Shui Guild. She has extensive experience at establishing and running all aspects of a business, both independent and corporate. Laurie's broad training background, knowledge and understanding of the many perspectives in Feng Shui are a tremendous asset to the position of Education Director.

As the Education Director, it is my intention is to promote and support the Feng Shui community through the development of standardized criteria for both practitioners and schools. Working creatively with the other Board members as well as the members of the Education Committee as we create a foundation for Feng Shui within our community that is both extensive and inclusive.

Together we will create an environment that welcomes practitioners and teachers throughout the Feng Shui community, and establishes the IFSG as the primary resource for information about Feng Shui training, conferences, schools and practitioners.

Feng Shui standards will establish the art of Feng Shui as a measurable and viable occupation.
