International Feng Shui Guild Board of Directors

The International Feng Shui Guild Board of Directors is the governing body of the IFSG and has:
1) responsibility for setting
  a. norms and standards of behavior for the organization and its members, e.g. Code of Ethics
  b. setting policy and procedures, such as membership & educational levels
2) legal and fiduciary responsibility
3) responsibility for holding the values of Feng Shui in its operations and activities

As the Board is responsible for oversight of the entire IFSG, all board members are required to support, promote, uphold and speak for the vision and perspective of the whole organization rather than their personal perspective or the perspective of the individual committees which they may chair.  Elected by IFSG Red Ribbon Professional and Professional members, the Board of Directors serve as volunteers in a two-year term in the various areas of finance, membership, marketing, education, and technology.

Rosalie Prinzivalli, Board Chair
Rosalie PrinzivalliThe Board Chair is an Officer of the IFSG responsible for leading the Board; developing and refining Board roles and structures, while maintaining the integrity of all Board functions. The Chair partners with the CEO and with each Board Member for the successful completion of their individual tasks. 

Rosalie has been an IFSG and NYC Chapter member since 2002. She first served as Treasurer and Assistant Chapter Director for the NYC Chapter and has served at the national level since 2005 as IFSG Membership Director, co-author of the IFSG Glossary, and Chair of 2006-2007 Planning Board and 2007-2009 Board.

During Rosalie's 2009-2010 term as Board Chair, her goals are to continue the work started by the Planning Board, to increase the IFSG and member visibility in a world that needs Feng Shui more than ever and to keep the organization focused on the IFSG mission.

 Laurie Bornstein, CEO
Laurie BornsteinThe CEO works in partnership with the Board Chair, reports to the Board, and is responsible for maintaining the successful on-going operations of the Guild, which includes hiring Guild staff and volunteers to fulfill the needs of the office and support the Board.  The CEO is appointed by the Board.

Laurie has participated on the IFSG in a variety of roles. She is one of the founding members of the Education committee and past committee chair. She served as the Education Director from 2006-2009, and CEO from 2007-2009. Prior to Laurie's Feng Shui practice and study, she worked within the corporate retail industry and later owned and operated a nationally recognized Feng Shui based Interior Design company. Her extensive experience at establishing and running all aspects of a business, both independent and corporate is a tremendous asset to our organization.

As CEO, it is my intention is to promote and support the Feng Shui community through the establishment of standards, guidelines and a variety of opportunities for both practitioners and schools. Working creatively with the members of the Board while developing organizational strategies to achieve the goals and direction they provide. Together we will create an environment that welcomes practitioners and teachers throughout the Feng Shui community, and establishes the IFSG as the primary resource for information about Feng Shui training, conferences, schools and practitioners.

 Mo Linquist, Secretary and Treasurer
Mo LinquistThe Secretary is an Officer of the IFSG responsible for creating and maintaining the IFSG information and records including Mission Statement, ByLaws, Board Minutes, Board Resolutions, and historical data, and assists the Board Chair as needed.

Also an Officer of the IFSG, the Treasurer chairs the Finance Committee and is responsible for (1) overseeing IFSG finances to ensure its viability, (2) developing an annual Budget, (3) providing regular financial reporting to the Board and an annual report to members, (4) complying with IRS statutes.

Mo was on the founding board of the Feng Shui Institute International and served as President from 2006-2008 where she experienced firsthand the dynamics of a passionate team with single focus. With over 25 years as a successful entrepreneur, she brings her keen business sense, networking, intuition and communication skills to the service to IFSG.  

As IFSG Board Secretary-Treasurer, I will continue to maintain our corporate records and facilitate communication among fellow Board members and the greater Feng Shui community. I will provide regular financial reports and status to the Board, be accountable to Guild members, be prudent with Guild resources while complying with government statutes and Guild Bylaws.

Mary Shurtleff, Education Director
Mary ShurtleffThe Education Director chairs the Education Committee and is responsible for: (1) establishing nationally recognized certification standards for schools and practitioners.  (2) developing educational resources and ongoing continuing education criteria, (3) encouraging participation of Feng Shui Schools in support of IFSG principles, standards and Universal Topics.

Mary is a Red Ribbon member of the Guild and a long-standing member of the Educational Committee. She has trained and studied in many disciplines: Feng Shui, geomancy, Metaphysics, energy healing, hypnotherapy and Interior Design.  Her diverse studies have given her a wide and unique perspective on education in many fields.

As Education Director Mary's goal is to further unite all practitioners from all the schools of Feng Shui as well as be instrumental in setting standards of excellence for the feng shui professional.  When we work as a unit, great things happen. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.

 Karen Ferraro, Marketing Co-Director
Karen FerraroThe Marketing Director responsible for Member Marketing and Public Relations chairs the Marketing Committee and is responsible for:
(1) strategic marketing (2) Marketing Communications, Public Relations, Event Marketing (3) Developing marketing articles for various IFSG publications (4) Brand management in cooperation with the CEO and Board.

Karen has been a marketing executive for over twenty-five years and during that time has served on several international boards and planning committees including the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). She is also a co-founder of the Metropolitan Institute of Interior Design’s new Feng Shui program.

Karen's goal for 2009-2010 is to continue building worldwide marketing communications outreach and resources for the IFSG and its members to drive the IFSG message and brand awareness. These initiatives are intended to communicate how Feng Shui creates greater balance and harmony in the world through improved living and working environments—informing the public about the IFSG as a professional resource of the highest level of practitioners and schools.

 Maureen Calamia, Marketing Co-Director
Maureen CalamiaThe Marketing Director responsible for Advertising chairs the Green Living and Design Committee and is responsible for: (1) advertising direction and planning and (2) committee activities.

Maureen has worked as a marketing consultant for over 20 years and has led projects and served in marketing leadership positions for Fortune 500 clients. She previously served on the Board of Women in Direct Marketing International’s NY Chapter (WDMI) and is currently on the Board of Directors for a local nature education organization in Smithtown, NY. Maureen is co-founder of the MIID Feng Shui program.

As IFSG’s Marketing Director, I will strive to increase the organization’s visibility with the public as well with the architecture, interior design, and green building communities. By partnering with the respective professional membership organizations, I will help communicate IFSG’s vision, deepen connections and endeavor to expand the influence of feng shui within these disciplines. I look forward to participating in this organization and spread my enthusiasm and passion for feng shui and its related arts!

 Ann Kucera, Membership Director
Ann Kucera
The Membership Director chairs the Membership Committee and is responsible for (1) supporting, communicating with and assisting members and Chapter Directors, (2) enhancing the value of membership for members worldwide, (3) ensuring all members are in compliance with the IFSG Bylaws and Code of Ethics.

Ann was the Chapter Director for the Michigan Chapter from 2007 - 2009 and is a Red Ribbon Professional member.  She has over 20 years of professional experience working at non-profit and educational institutions. She enjoys working in a team environment and she believes that clear and honest communication is essential to creating and growing great organizations.

Ann is looking forward to using her talents and skills to enhance the benefits of the IFSG for all members. Our membership has a lot to contribute to the world and the IFSG is a great way to display both the unity and the diversity of the practice of Feng Shui. My vision for the future of the IFSG is that we will build a community that leads the profession in developing standards of excellence in the research, education, and implementation of Feng Shui principles and practices.

Deb DermyerLamb, General Board Member
Deb DermyerLamb
General Board Members report to the Board Chair and are full voting members of the Board. Although not required to Chair any "Standing Committees", General Board Members may be asked to lead Task Forces on special projects that support the Board and membership, assist the Board Chair and CEO as needed. .

After joining the Guild in 2004, Deb served as Kansas City Chapter Director before joining the Board as Treasurer 2006-2007, and then as Membership Director 2006- 2009. These roles provided her with a unique, big-picture, understanding of our organization, and when combined with her degrees in Accounting and Engineering, she is able to marry the technical and analytical with the intuitive and natural.  She also currently serves as the Interim Board Secretary. 

As General Board Member, Deb intends to support the Board, our members and the broader Feng Shui community by participating on task forces and Board projects and by offering feedback based on my prior role experiences.  Her goals are to enhance team commitment and to work toward the even greater success for our members during this term.
