What makes a great blog post?
The most popular posts on IFSG blog have the following things in common:
- The writer connects with the reader by giving advice that doesn’t seem cliché or oversimplified. It’s insightful and thought provoking, enabling readers to understand Feng Shui principles on a deeper level.
- The post is practical and actionable. Not all posts need a list of things to do; in fact, some are more powerful without one. But when the topic warrants, clear action steps help the reader bring Feng Shui into their lives.
Writing Guidelines
- Aim for a word count between 500 and 1,500 words.
- Offer insights and practical tips to help readers overcome challenges. It doesn’t need to be a numbered list, though this type of post is popular. It can be a story building to a clear message or lesson for readers, something that evokes an “Aha” moment for them.
- Avoid referencing your blog, coaching practice, book, or speaking career in the body of the post. Look to share your knowledge first.
- Make sure it’s original content and has never before been published anywhere, including your own blog
