Out of a desire to give members a place to talk about their experiences and needs with the Guild, to share success stories, and learn ways we can improve – a membership survey was born. Open to all current IFSG members, the anonymous survey asked for feedback on a variety of topics.  We have accomplished many things in the last few years, but there is always opportunity for growth.  Special thanks to all who participated!

As the first international hotel chain to enter China – in 1984, in Beijing with the Holiday Inn Lido – the U.K. brand has been in the country for so long that many locals actually think it is Chinese, claims Chief Executive Andrew Cosslet, who is based in London. But he says he can’t get too comfortable, especially with the surge of competition entering the China market these days.
 

Rare ivory compass found in Ha Tinh
From VietNam News Online:  An ivory feng shui compass dating back to the end of the 19th-early 20th century has been discovered in the central province of Ha Tinh, according to the provincial Culture, Sports and Tourism Department.  Most compasses of that era were made from wood, which makes this find particularly special, they added.
