Bethany is the award-winning author of Organizing with Feng Shui: 101 Tips Room by Room available on Amazon.
She has been practicing feng shui long before she even knew what it was. “I’ve always been sensitive to energy in spaces especially as a child growing up in Flint Michigan. Most of the teachers I had in school were organized but I found in the disorganized classroom environments learning was difficult for me causing endless daydreaming. I would rearrange and organize the classrooms in my mind’s eye so I could relax and concentrate better only to be called out countless times by a teacher for daydreaming.”
Having no method of assuaging her spacial sensitivities in the classroom she turned to movement through sports and communing outdoors with Mother Nature. Here she was able to find her flow and rhythm with life. “If we could all be taught to take our clues from Mother Nature we would live healthier and harmoniously.”
“I tend to use the shapes I see in nature in my designs and color recommendations for clients. I align furniture placement that creates the best flow for people that live or work in the space. By combining feng shui with an organized space the client and room(s) align. The results are often profound. Suddenly clients love their space and love how it makes them feel. They are more productive more enthusiastic about their work and their life. Something shifts inside of them and I can see it before I walk out the door.”
