Amanda CollinsAmanda Collins is a Feng Shui expert, Yoga teacher and spiritual guide who leads people on journeys around the world. Born and raised in Ireland, after living for several years in San Diego, Amanda has returned to her home base and first love of Ireland.  Amanda is best known as a Feng Shui consultant, speaker and instructor. Alina Cruz’s love affair with Feng Shui has deep roots in the energy work that she has been doing for more than 15 years. As a Reiki practitioner and certified yoga teacher, she has been helping others to balance their personal energy in order to achieve a healthy, whole, contented state of being. Once she was introduced to Feng Shui, she realized that this was the missing piece in creating a harmonized life and began studying it right away. Several years after beginning her studies, she completed her Feng Shui certification with the International School of Feng Shui. Having been born in Ecuador and having grown up both in the United States and abroad, she is bilingual and bi-cultural and enjoys teaching in both English and Spanish.

Q: Please describe your very first coming into awareness about Feng Shui.
A: I read a magazine article about a hot air balloon company in San Diego that had tons of business but was losing money. The story told about how their feng shui consultant came in and pointed out that there was a roof leak over the bathroom which was in the Wealth gua, as well as a dripping faucet and a running toilet. The consultant told them they were not paying attention to details and recommended they call someone to fix the roof and plumbing. They did, and when the time came to write the repair person, their office manager was out to lunch, so they had to sit down and write the check themselves. When they did, they saw that she had been skimming money out of their bank account for years. My thoughts were: 1) What is feng shui? and 2) What is a Wealth gua? This was so long ago there was no internet. I had a hard time tracking down books about feng shui back then, but I was determined.
