Board of Directors Pyramid

A little about our corporate structure and leadership…

The International Feng Shui Guild is a business trade organization (as classified by the Internal Revenue Service), incorporated in the state of Florida and currently operating the state of Missouri in the United States, where our primary office is located.  That classification of 503(c)(6) means that

  1. We are non-profit, but not charitable
  2. The vast majority of our revenue must come from membership revenue. Revenue outside that scope is considered taxable.

The organization is primarily run by our 12 members of the Board of Directors.  Eleven of these positions are voted on by the members and the remaining, the CEO, is appointed by the Board for a 3 year term.  Elections occur every 2 out of 3 years – where approximately ½ of the positions are elected in year 1 – approximately ½ of the positions are elected in year 2 – and year 3 is a rest and working year.

All elections and board activities are governed by the IFSG Bylaws first ratified in 2007 and again in 2012 by vote of the members.  As a commitment to the organization and the highest integrity we expect, all board members must agree and sign our confidentiality and commitment agreement prior to serving.  Additionally, as all IFSG members are required to sign our code of ethics upon joining the organization, the IFSG Code of Ethics also governs board operations and behavior.

The board is responsible for big picture strategic thinking and support of the Guild in the basic areas including but not limited to membership, education, and marketing.  They are committed to supporting our mission.
