Vision Board - New Year New Goals January 2024How to Make a Vision Board that Works
by Lorrie Webb Grillo

There are many ways to make a vision board. You can tag and curate photos from Pinterest and create one on their app. There are software programs now that will help you create one on any of your devices. I’ve seen examples of people who have created multi-media vision boards with photos and video and scrolling text that they can pull up and play whenever. There is a way out there for you to create a vision board in any medium and form you like!

The key is to find one that will work for you. And, by “work for you” I mean it helps you to successfully manifest your visions! The key that has worked for me, and my clients, is using feng shui principles to organize their vision boards.

Date Selection - New Year New Goals January 2024 NewsletterZe Ri – Date Selection
by Cătălin Vasiloiu

The techniques of Ze Ri – selecting auspicious dates have been used in China throughout its long history. Ancient Chinese emperors used Ze Ri date selection as a safety method for choosing favorable dates before implementing any important project or action.

Today, the technique is used for both larger and smaller problems and challenges. Some examples: starting a new business , giving birth by caesarean, getting married, and moving to a new house. Nowadays, events take place at a fast pace. But the selection of favorable data eliminates the cost of the time we waste with repeated and unsuccessful attempts and ensures the success of our actions from the first attempt. Learn more and pick your best dates for 2024.

When people are stuck, often they are living in a stuck environment. Just taming the in-outs moving through our homes can be overwhelming. Things and stuff pile up, in fact we are stuffed with all the STUFF in our homes.

BaZi January 2024 NewsletterBaZi or Four Pillars of Destiny
by Jillian Rothschild-Scholar

This system of knowledge relies on the Chinese foundational concept of the principles of Yin (feminine/emotional) and Yang (masculine/rational) and the five symbolic elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Metal and Wood. And these are used to explain the energies within a person’s personality and their Destiny or Life Path.

However, this is not fortune telling or a psychic reading. Instead, it is about understanding yourself better and knowing when to take action with the supportive energies in the year, month, day and hour so you can increase your opportunities for success.

Quick Tip: Resolutions and Intention
“I tell my clients that if we want to invite something new into our lives we must first make room for it. By letting go of what no longer serves us we open up space for the things we do want to come to us. Maybe this is why so many resolutions fail – we don’t make room for them.

“Instead of making a resolution in January I spend the month clearing out and making space instead. In taking my time to clear out the old I can see with greater clarity the something new that I want to manifest in the upcoming year. Then I set an intention which I ring in with the Chinese New Year.

“So, if you are feeling like you need a New Year’s resolution do-over, don’t worry. You still have a few weeks to clear a path toward your goal and make the year…a great one!”

Period 9 January 2024 Newsletter As we welcome the new year – the Chinese New Year of the Wood Dragon – we are also ushering in Period 9…and you may hear many consultants talking about the changes ahead – for the next 20 years!

We will share more about this in our special Chinese New Year issue in early February, but for now, read what the lovely Amanda Sophia has to say about Period 9.

“Period 9 is associated with Fire energy, movement, and action, and with the presence of Wood in 2024, the first year of Period 9, we will experience a softening of the fiery aspects, promoting balance. Wood is the mother of Fire, feeding it, as it will feed your inner fire in the new Period 9. This is a profoundly powerful combination that welcomes grounded action, flexibility, development, and inner peace.

“With the Dragon symbolizing change and adaptation and the Wood element signifying expansion and renewal, 2024 promises to be dynamic and unpredictable. It will be a year to embrace transformation and personal growth.”

Final Thoughts: Setting Intentions with Feng Shui
by Diane Gallin, Wind and Water Feng Shui Consulting

Have you set your intentions for the remainder of the year yet? If not, you might want to consider doing so. In Feng Shui, setting your intentions is a vital part of bringing about meaningful transformation in your life. By visualizing the process of first removing barriers to your success and then seeing yourself in the new role helps to bring about the changes you desire.

In traditional Chinese brush painting, before taking up a brush to paint, the artist first spends time in meditation grinding the ink stick against a stone in a circular motion. This process helps to calm her mind and envision each brushstroke as well as the finished product. No painting should commence before this process is completed for it is believed that without it, the artist will not be ready for the challenge.

Take a moment to envision where you would like to be in the near (or distant) future and begin preparing your own masterpiece.
