For those looking to bring harmony and balance to the workplace, Feng Shui may be the perfect solution! By considering the placement of both physical objects in an office space and intangible elements (like energy and atmosphere), Feng Shui can help create an environment conducive to optimum productivity.

Whether we are self-employed and from home or for someone else at an office, feeling seen and acknowledged for our work and contributions, getting along with clients, employers, employees, and coworkers, and being well compensated for our efforts and input, are so important.

We also want to feel rested and creative – filled with energy and enthusiasm.

Let’s take a look at your office space.

The placement of your desk is so essential. Make sure you can see the door to your office, so you know what and who is coming in. Think about being the king or queen of your castle/office.

  • To be seen and recognized, ensure the South section of your office represents the fire element. You can even add a plant here for growth. You can also place certificates here and any other accomplishments.
  • To get along with coworkers, clients, business partners, etc., focus on the SouthWest, the West, and the NorthWest. The SW relates to collaboration, the W relates to communication, and the NW to support and mentorship. Place two crystals in the SW, and place something metal here – even your electronics. Place your address book here and images of mentors.
  • Make sure your chair supports you well with a high back.
  • Have a wall or an image of a mountain behind you.

Adjustments like rearranging furniture so chairs aren’t facing the door or wall, placing plants near desks, or adding bright artwork can help direct energy flow toward positive outcomes.

Creating positive Feng Shui at work doesn’t have to end there; you can also impact your office environment by introducing mindful behaviors like expressing appreciation to coworkers or being aware of how our thoughts and behaviors interact with others.

 

I would highly recommend taking a close look at your home since this is where we spend a lot of our time.  Here are some essential tips:

  • You have heard this before, and here it is again – de-clutter and organize your home if you feel overwhelmed and stuck.
  • Make sure you keep a healthy sleep routine if you feel drained.
  • Be sure to get the most restorative sleep in one of your best directions.
  • Eat well and drink loads of water to support your brain and nervous system, not to mention the rest of the body.
  • Move your body so you can release stress and, at the same time, feel powerful and active.
