I am Tanya Hames, the founder of Perfect Sanctuary. I am based in the beautiful island of Guernsey. I cover all of the Channel Islands as well as central London, England. I am also available to travel to consultations overseas, by arrangement.
Feng Shui has intrigued and fascinated me since I was a child/ teenager growing up in Asia. I used to read articles about Feng Shui in local newspapers and experiment with their suggested cures and remedies. Good things happened. Then I returned to work in education in Singapore for approximately twenty years, and my use of Feng Shui principles continued.
After the lockdowns in 2021, I decided to formalise my passion for Feng Shui and achieved the feng shui certification with the London School of Feng Shui, with the talented E J Shaffert, (July 2023). I also study Biophilic Design in Maureen Calamia’s wonderful Luminous Spaces School, as well as doing BaZi training, and Feng Shui Compass School training with the dynamic Joey Yap Academy. This is added to my previous skills and qualifications which include a Doctorate in Education, (Ed.D), from Durham University, UK, specializing in the psychological construct of motivation and affective factors in educational settings.
As you can tell, I have always been driven to help people achieve their true potential, and will constantly seek out the most original and ingenious ways to elevate people’s lives.
Energy is everything to me. When I step into a client’s house, it literally speaks to me. I can see how their life is reflected in the space, their successes and challenges in plain sight.
My overarching philosophy is influenced by Nikola Tesla:
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe you need to think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
And Albert Einstein:
“Nothing happens until something moves.”
My starting point is therefore to tap into what is happening energetically in a space, then find out what the client wants to achieve. I then work with them to enhance the positive energy or de-activate the negative energy as required. I approach my work in a deep and nuanced way. For example, I go to the WHY of the problem. I don’t just go straight to the wealth and abundance sector if a client says they need more money. I dive deep into why they are not earning more money. Perhaps it is not the wealth and abundance sector that needs to be activated but the skills and knowledge sector or the helpful people sector.
My aim is to use my Feng Shui toolkit to empower clients to elevate their lives in simple ways. As well as working on the structural environment of the house, I focus on inner Feng Shui, alongside BaZi analysis. I help clients create a bubbly, light energy within themselves where they can feel comfortable, confident and in a position to manifest their dreams. I make Feng Shui fun, accessible, intuitive, joyous and modern. I provide a range of services including:
